Emirates Shipping Line stated today that in light of recent market developments it is announcing a General Rate Increase on its Middle East trade lane in line with market conditions.

The quantum and date of implementation are as below:

Scope: all westbound shipments to Middle East region from Far East and South East Asia

Quantum: USD500/20' and USD1000/40' containers

Validity: from 1st November 2013 till further notice

Emirates Shipping Line won the Best Emerging Company award at the prestigious 2006 Asia Logistics Awards held at a glittering ceremony in Singapore.

More than 9,000 readers of Lloyd’s List FTB Asia were asked to vote for the best companies in 14 industry specific categories, the finalists in each category were evaluated by an eminent panel of 16 international shipping and logistics experts, before the winners were announced.

Vikas Khan, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Shipping Line received the award from Tadhg Meany, Managing Director, Kuehne + Nagel Pte.Ltd ( Singapore)

“I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of all of the staff of Emirates Shipping Line who have worked so hard to make this dream become a reality. We have already launched a number of services this year and there are more to come in the future.

“I would like to thank the readers of FTB Asia and the judges for honouring us with this award,” said Mr. Khan.

The 5th Asia Logistics Awards were presented before an audience of 350 senior logistics and shipping professionals at a gala dinner at Sapphire Hall, Sentosa Island, Singapore on October 5th.
