Emirates Shipping Line stated today that in light of recent market developments it is announcing a General Rate Increase on its Middle East trade lane in line with market conditions.

The quantum and date of implementation are as below:

Scope: all westbound shipments to Middle East region from Far East and South East Asia

Quantum: USD500/20' and USD1000/40' containers

Validity: from 1st November 2013 till further notice

Emirates Shipping Line today announced the launch of its Hyper Galex service providing comprehensive port connections linking China, South East Asia, India and the Middle East.

Hyper Galex will be served by six vessels of 3,100TEUs and a speed of 22.5 knots, breaking new ground in providing fast services between key trading and commercial centres in the three dynamic regions. Emirates Shipping Line will provide 4 out of the 6 vessels while SCI and TS Line will provide one ship each.

OOCL and NYK/TSK will be co-loading as slot users

The service will launch on November 11th 2006 and will open up the first direct route between Xingang in China and Dammam in Saudi Arabia. Hyper Galex will also provide the first direct service between Cochin and North China.

“Hyper Galex provides comprehensive container shipping links between three of the world’s fastest growing economic regions. With this in mind we have focused on providing a very wide port coverage to our customers” said Vikas Khan, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Shipping Line.

 The port rotation will be: Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali, Cochin, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong, Xingang.
