Emirates Shipping Line stated today that in light of recent market developments it is announcing a General Rate Increase on its Middle East trade lane in line with market conditions.

The quantum and date of implementation are as below:

Scope: all westbound shipments to Middle East region from Far East and South East Asia

Quantum: USD500/20' and USD1000/40' containers

Validity: from 1st November 2013 till further notice

Emirates Shipping Line today announced its participation in the ASEAN - Gulf - Indian Subcontinent (AGI) service

The ASEAN - Gulf - ISC (AGI) service, launched by a consortium of Evergreen, Simatech and OOCL offers a direct link from Thailand to the Middle East and the Indian Sub continent.

Emirates will have slots on the service and will serve the Thailand - ISC markets with additional direct link to the Middle East.

The port rotation of the service is : Laem Chabang - Singapore - Tanjung Pelepas - Port Klang - Colombo - Jebel Ali - Karachi - Mundra - Colombo - Port Klang - Singapore - Laem Chabang

Emirates's participation commences on the 'HS Challenger' departing Thailand on September 17th 2010.

The service is the only direct link that exists between Thailand and the Middle East
