Emirates Shipping Line stated today that in light of recent market developments it is announcing a General Rate Increase on its Middle East trade lane in line with market conditions.

The quantum and date of implementation are as below:

Scope: all westbound shipments to Middle East region from Far East and South East Asia

Quantum: USD500/20' and USD1000/40' containers

Validity: from 1st November 2013 till further notice

08th June, 2011 Emirates Shipping Line today, announced that it has appointed Equator Shipping Line Uganda Limited as its agency in Uganda. The appointment of the new agency is in line with Emirate's strategy of expanding its Africa presence and further develops its Far East, Asia to Africa (AFA) and the Gulf and Indian Subcontinent (GIA) services. Both these services are important to its presence in the African market. The appointment also opens up further opportunities that Uganda as a country provides.

"Emirates is delighted to be joining forces with Equator Line to ensure its service quality will be upheld in support of our image" stated an official announcement from the Line. "Equator Line brings a strong presence to the Emirate's coverage of this key market through its local knowledge and experience"

Equator Line added "Ugandan importers and exporters will benefit from Emirates Shipping Line's strong and growing network of container services to and from the Far East, India and Middle East" Adding "Equator Line is very pleased to represent Emirates Shipping Line in Uganda. Our dedicated agency team is in place whose sole focus will be to provide a high level of customer service for all Emirates Shipping Line's customers in Uganda."
